Video reviews

Although the Akai MPK Mini mk MIDI keyboard belongs to the low-cost class, its excellent functionality, user-friendly interface and high quality workmanship make it a bestseller for many years. The third generation of the model has become even more perfect and has every chance to gain a foothold in the sales leaders for a long time.

Now even more convenient

Compactness is without a doubt the hallmark of the Akai MPK Mini mk. Miniature dimensions and weight less than 1 kg make it easy to transport the device in a regular backpack, and work, as they say, on the knee, connecting only to the USB bus. The plastic body is undeniable in quality and durability, while three colour options (black-red, black-white and black) and pad illumination give the instrument a spectacular look.

More expression

As for the filling, MPK Mini mkIII has become even more advanced in this parameter. The model received an informative display, a pedal input, 360° rotating encoder knobs, reinforced dynamic keys and sensitive pads. Now you can control the dynamics and volume of the sound by pressing the keys and pads, but if you want to disable this effect using the Full Level button.

8 knobs allow you to quickly adjust any assignable parameter in your application. With their help , you can control the equalizer, change the timbre of the synthesizer or tune the reverb.

visual feedback

The OLED display shows the selected DAW mode, Velocity, CC and other useful information from the editor, making it easy to work with the instruments without having to look at the computer screen.

The MPK Mini mkIII also received 2 memory banks, thanks to which you can assign twice as many sounds to 8 pads. From the previous model, the well-known Note Repeat, octave shift, arpeggiator and omnidirectional joystick for pitch and modulation control migrated, without which the MPK Mini mk would not be itself.

Absolute functionality

The manufacturer also took care of the full set of software for professional production. In the included Complete Music Production Starter Kit, the user will find programs such as MPC Beats, AIR Hybrid, Mini Grand, Velvet and various MPC expansion packs that turn the controller into a complete portable studio.

Akai MPK Mini mkIII is perfect for both beginners and professional musicians and composers. Affordable price ($120) and wide functionality still make it the best among compact midi keyboards in the low-cost segment.
