The largest model in the updated 2025 iPad Pro lineup, the main distinction from its predecessor is the transition to the Apple M5 chip with a nine-core processor and a ten-core GPU, paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. According to Apple, rendering tasks with ray tracing improve by up to 6.7 times compared to the M1 generation, while AI-powered image generation speeds up fourfold.
The wireless module has also been updated — the proprietary N1 chip supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, which the predecessor lacked. Fast charging is now available: up to 50% capacity in about 30 minutes. The 13-inch OLED Ultra Retina XDR display is built with Tandem OLED technology, offering a resolution of 2752x2064, brightness up to 1000 nits in full-screen mode, and a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1.
The adaptive ProMotion refresh rate ranges from 10 to 120 Hz depending on the content. The Apple iPad Pro 13 2025 M5 256 GB, with a thickness of 5.1 mm and a weight of 579 g, remains one of the thinnest devices with a screen of this size. The USB4 port with a speed of 40 Gbps and DisplayPort support allows for the connection of external monitors and quick data transfer — relevant for working with ProRes and 4K video. Four speakers with Dolby Atmos, four studio microphones, and a LiDAR scanner in the camera complement the professional focus of the model. Supports Apple Pencil Pro.
