The ARCTIC P12 Black fan is a highly specialized solution in the 120-mm cooler segment. Unlike models oriented towards maximum airflow, the blades of this device, consisting of five wide uniquely shaped blades, are designed to effectively push air through obstacles with high aerodynamic resistance. With a pressure rating of 2.2 mm of water column, this model performs best when installed on radiators of liquid cooling systems, dense fins of tower coolers, or in cases with fine-mesh dust filters where ordinary fans lose efficiency due to backflow.

The technical implementation is based on a hydrodynamic bearing, which reduces friction and vibration levels, extending the mechanical lifespan. An important operational feature of this version is the use of a 3-pin connection interface: it lacks pulse width modulation (PWM), so when standard 12 V is supplied, the fan will constantly operate at a fixed maximum speed of 1800 RPM, providing a flow of 56.3 CFM.

However, the low starting voltage (only 2.8 V) allows the user to flexibly control the speed by changing the voltage (DC Mode) through BIOS settings of the motherboard, achieving acoustic comfort in idle mode. The ARCTIC P12 Black fan stands out due to its unique blade design for high resistance environments, efficient in liquid cooling and tower coolers, and low operating voltage for flexible speed control.

Model overview based on user reviews
The ARCTIC P12 Black fan is a mixed bag according to user reviews. On the positive side, users appreciate its quiet operation and good design, making it a suitable option for replacing coolers in certain setups. However, some users have encountered issues with vibration and balancing, leading to a noticeable hum at maximum speed. Additionally, the 3-pin connection limits automatic speed regulation, which can be a drawback for some. There are also concerns about the quality of mounting holes and occasional factory defects. Despite these issues, the fan is considered a budget-friendly option with a long-term guarantee, but it may require adjustments to achieve optimal performance.

For replacing the cooler in the block, it's a wonderful option, but not for the case.
14 January 2021
Having bought to replace the cooler in the block of life, so like a stock yoga cooler, I saw up to 40 dB noise. While everything is working well, the cooler is quiet, there is no extraneous noise, everything is good.
Quiet.
Not very high-quality mounting holes. I wouldn't install it in a case like this, as it is 3-pin, which makes automatic speed regulation impossible.

hat I will never look at this brand

one of the two doesn't work, didn't start up. I'm still considering, I'll only choose the Arctic brand. I've never had a new cooler not work; even if it's not perfect, at least it should spin.

just one of the two was defective from the factory, nobody checks anything, they just turn their backs, bought in the Brain store, Cherkasy.
I don't recommend it
25 December 2023
Disappointed. At maximum speed they vibrate the body - it looks like everything is bad with balancing. Then a strong rumble is heard. When attached via silicones, the buzzing is much less, but still there. It helps to lower the voltage to reduce the speed by at least 20-25%. Then everything is fine. I do not advise. They cost 4 of the cheapest - and they behave better - there is nothing but rustling.
Materials and design.
Vibration, balancing = hum
