The power is indeed strong. I don't remember if there are more powerful devices or not, but as far as I recall, the most powerful at the time of purchase was Ardo. Its suction power was like a medical-grade pump. So it should also "break up" milk clogs, I think.
As for maintenance, I just wash or sterilize the removable parts. Everything's fine.
