Top OLED monitor for sophisticated gamers
The Asus ROG Swift PG42UQ is a flagship gaming monitor with a large 41.5-inch screen (16:9), 10-bit color depth with natural shades (98% DCI P3, 133% sRGB), support for HDR formats and a full set of gaming features. The monitor is one of the first OLED models in the ROG Swift series, and despite its two-year age, it remains one of the most popular and sought-after options even among more modern OLED counterparts.
Optimal for PS5 and Xbox Series S consoles
In line with the principles of the ROG Swift series, it is primarily aimed at owners of powerful gaming PCs and PS5/Xbox S consoles. As befits a device of this level, the screen boasts a record low response time (0.1 ms GtG), an increased refresh rate of 138 Hz and support for Adaptive-Sync with NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible technologies, which match the monitor's frame rate with the video signal frequency from the video card, eliminating the so-called frame breaks. Additionally, the monitor is equipped with a built-in gaming complex with the ability to display a crosshair fixed in the center, display a frame counter per second and improve the visibility of details in dark areas of the screen using the Shadow Boost function.
Built-in subwoofer and 4 HDMI 2.1 ports
The advantages of the model include a built-in USB hub and well-designed built-in Harman Kardon acoustics with two 10-watt speakers and a 15-watt subwoofer. Support for the Uniform Brightness function allows you to adjust the screen brightness, simplifying work at the monitor. And the presence of an HDMI 2.1 port makes it possible to transmit images from PlayStation 5 in 4K / 120 Hz mode without color compression. Moreover, there are four HDMI ports here. Of the disadvantages of the Asus ROG Swift PG42UQ, one can note only a stylish, but non-adjustable height stand and a fairly high price. However, such are the realities of the current monitor market - OLED models have just begun to pave their way, and you always have to pay extra for monitors with a diagonal of more than 40 inches.
