Audio-Technica has a lot of merits on its account, ranging from super-expensive limited-edition headphone models to the “popular” ATH-M50. Let's talk about the ATH-MSR7, a solid mid-ranger with a premium design and an adequate price of 250 USD for its quality level.

Everything fits

Headphones can be chosen in 4 colours: black, metallic, blue and red with gold. The base of the bowls is made of an alloy of aluminium and magnesium, the headband is made of metal. The bowls turn, but the structure itself does not add up. The model uses foam ear cushions made of eco-leather with a memory effect. They are soft and comfortable. But, according to some reviews, not all. In general, if these headphones fit on your head, then you are guaranteed to be comfortable in them for several hours in a row without taking them off. And if not, then it is better to find another model.

Equipment

Pleased with the set. In addition to the eco-leather case, the headphones were equipped with 3 cables, two of which are short (1.2 m), one with a remote control and a microphone, the second with regular audio, and 3 metres. The quality of the wires, by the way, is rather mediocre. But the fact that there are three of them, involuntarily smoothes this shortcoming.

All for sound

Before proceeding to the description of the sound nuances of the headphones, it should be mentioned that the manufacturer did a great job of making listening to them as realistic as possible.

The special design of the cups dampens vibrations and resonance, and the cunning ventilation system ensures optimal airflow, making the headphones a conditionally open type. As a result, after all these “improvers”, we have a highly detailed sound at the output, with an almost perfectly sounded mids, slightly pretentious highs and a restrained but accentuated bass. In principle, when listening to music in lossless formats on good Hi-Fi devices, the scene will be as transparent and wide as possible, and it is better not to touch the equalizer knob, but this, as they say, is not for everybody.

As a result, the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 turned out to be a solid monitor model in an ergonomic design and at an affordable price. One of the best headphone options for audiophiles today.
