Model overview based on user reviews
The BenQ GW2490E 23.8" monitor offers a compelling combination of features and value. Users appreciate its excellent color reproduction and smooth gradients, making it suitable for color work, though not necessarily for printing. The IPS panel ensures great image quality, and the anti-glare matte finish effectively reduces reflections. While the monitor includes built-in speakers, their quality is subpar, described as "sound from a bucket." The lack of height adjustment is a minor drawback, but the 100 Hz refresh rate enhances gaming experiences. Some users reported issues with dead pixels, which may be a concern given the manufacturer's warranty policy. Despite this, the monitor is praised for its automatic brightness adjustment and overall build quality, making it a worthwhile purchase for those seeking a budget-friendly option.
Pros
Cons
price-yakist if you really nitpick then "built-in speakers", but that was expected and there's no height adjustment. |
I bought it at Rosetka. The price has its "price". The first monitor had a dead pixel in the central part of the screen, so it was replaced under warranty. Unfortunately, the second monitor was not checked thoroughly. And there is also a dead pixel there and it is no longer subject to replacement, since it is in a different sector of the screen. In general, according to the manufacturer's warranty policy, there can be 5 dead pixels on the monitor and that is OK. Consider. This monitor is not worth the money spent. If they are statistically almost all defective, then they should be declared when selling as a defective product. Choose something of higher quality, do not read positive reviews. none dead pixels |
Good color reproduction, smooth gradients. I think it's quite suitable for working with color, if not for printing. The brightness is ample with room to spare. A good matte finish, doesn't reflect glare, and doesn’t get dirty. At low brightness, slight flickering is noticeable. TFT test screenshots are unlikely to be informative since everyone will be viewing through their own monitor. I'll share a couple of photos to assess backlight uniformity and color temperature. That’s also quite good, considering the price - actually, very good (photos of the white field and black fill in the dark). color reproduction, automatic brightness not found |

Overall, I've had it for half a year, and every time I look at it, I remember how lucky I got with it. The monitor is just what I needed. If I were to nitpick, one downside is the lack of height adjustment, but the price is fitting.
