Driver's tool kit

While many other manufacturers are trying to produce as "rich" sets of tools as possible, Black & Decker relies on relatively simple, but inexpensive sets. Therefore, there is nothing superfluous in the Black&Decker A7144 — only the most necessary accessories that every motorist may need. These include 4 open-end wrenches (from 8 to 19 mm in size) and one adjustable wrench, 12 hexagons (from 0.8 to 6 mm) and 7 socket heads (from 6 to 19 mm) along with a ratchet. Among the 38 bits present in the set, there are all types of nozzles that a motorist may need: flat (SL), cross (PH and PZ) and “asterisks” (Torx). The bit holder is a reversible screwdriver handle with an integrated ratchet mechanism. The small pliers and long nose pliers included in the set are useful for working with wires or small parts. Since Black&Decker bits are not magnetized, the included magnetic feeler gauge can be very useful if a bolt or nut falls out of your hand and rolls off somewhere where your hand can't get through. To work in low light, the set includes a small flashlight and a couple of batteries for it.

Take it on the road

The inexpensive Black & Decker A7144 is advertised by the manufacturer as a "small motorist kit". It is literally small, because the tool is packed in a soft bag that folds into a compact roll (122x82x327 mm when folded), takes up minimal space and even fits in the glove box. Inside this bag, each item has its own attachment: a nest, an elastic band or a Hook-and-loop pocket. Therefore, when carrying or during a trip over bumps, all instruments remain in place and do not ring.
