— a collapsible tool that looks like a handle with a seat (usually a square) for a socket head. The square is fixed on the handle not rigidly, but due to the ratchet mechanism; thus, when turning in one direction, the handle also turns the square with the head installed, and when turning in the other direction, it moves idly. This eliminates the need to turn the key 360° or constantly reposition it. The direction of the idle and working stroke can be changed, which allows you to work equally well on unscrewing and twisting.
