Canton Movie 135

The German manufacturer Canton has developed the Movie 135 speaker system for all home theater enthusiasts who are not ready to spend too much money on its organization. The speaker costs about $ 600, which is quite inexpensive for its characteristics and the country of production.

Reasonable Design

The 12x9x11cm front and rear speakers and the 9x20x11cm centre channel are housed in sturdy cabinets with gentle curves to eliminate standing waves. A rather massive (24x41x42 cm) subwoofer inspires hope for powerful and deep bass even at one glance. A nice bonus is the white and black colour of the system to choose from for a harmonious combination in the interior.

The speakers can be mounted on a shelf, but the kit also includes wall mounts, which is convenient for small spaces.

Sound without compromise

Two-way satellites and the centre operate in the range of 120 – 25,000 Hz, and the subwoofer extends the lower limit to 33 Hz. Together, this delivers optimal sound with up to 420W total power, with spatial depth, impressive sound effects, excellent speech intelligibility, and fundamental bass enhanced by the front bass reflex port. The subwoofer amplifier features SC technology that blocks unwanted ultra-low signals to prevent excessive resonance, and the cabinet back panel features flexible level, crossover, and LFE input settings.

With all our desire, we did not find any obvious shortcomings in the Canton Movie 135. If they are, it is purely subjective. Beautiful, inexpensive, reliable home acoustics with excellent sound that will last for many years. What else is needed?
