A special thanks to the Cata service in Kyiv, I am pleasantly surprised by the service technician's attitude. Well, what else can you say about this product? Before this, it was exactly the same, but it lost its appearance long ago (it worked for 3 years) and had to be replaced with the same one so as not to cut the cabinet. But there is not much good in the new model. It doesn't pull out badly, the design of the hood is quite laconic. 1. The noise from the hood is definitely higher than the stated 42dB. I almost never use the 3rd speed. 2. The motors burned out in the new hood after a month and a half of use, right during the holidays. 3. The control buttons constantly melt, I'm thinking of machining aluminum ones. By the way, different motors were used in the old hood, more powerful. The Spanish company Cata is a leader in the production of ventilation systems and kitchen hoods, with branches and production facilities both at home and abroad. The TF 5260 is a powerful twin-motor hood in a modern design at an affordable price, only about $100.
Design features
The device is available in silver, black and white. There is also a modification with a glass front panel, which is offered in black and white — in general, you can choose for any kitchen design. When fully extended, the device completely covers the stove, capturing all the fumes. Aluminium filters are not afraid of corrosion, they are dishwasher safe, they are well cleaned of grease.
Performance
TF 5260 traditionally operates in two modes : air extraction and recirculation. Three speeds allow you to choose the most economical and quiet option for every occasion. At the first speed, the hood is quiet — 41 dB, since the operation of one motor is enough, but at the third it buzzes noticeably louder — 55 dB. By the way, two motors are also good because if one breaks, the second one will remain working.
The device effectively operates in rooms with an area of 10 – 13 m2, showing a maximum productivity of 600 m3 / h. That is, in an hour, the hood completely drives all the air in the room through itself 2 times, which means it is guaranteed to remove all odours from it.
Additional features
The design allows the installation of carbon filters, but you will have to buy consumables and change them often, without them it is better not to turn on the hood at all in the recirculation mode.
For lighting, 2 incandescent lamps of 40 W each are used, which is not very economical, but it is cheap to replace, and there is a lot of light in the kitchen. Slider control functions are convenient and intuitive.
In general, Cata, as always, pleases with simplicity and reliability at an affordable price. The TF 5260 hood is a performant, easy-to-use model for a family that cooks every day.
