Telescopes of the PowerSeeker family from the American company Celestron are ready for celestial observations straight out of the box. They are equipped with everything necessary for comfortable contemplation of space objects and are assembled into working position in just a few minutes.

Heavenly beholder

Model 80EQ is made in the form of a tube with a length of just under one metre. Inside its body is a lens system with an anti-reflective coating. This scheme of the structure of the telescope is called refractor. The aperture value of the "celestial observer" is 80 mm, which, together with the lens focal length of 900 mm, is quite enough for lunar-planetary observations at medium and high magnifications.

Regular weapons

The Celestron PowerSeeker 80EQ comes on an equatorial mount with fine motion mechanisms and coordinate circles. A practical shelf at the base of the aluminium tripod strut adds to the ease of handling the telescope. It provides "nests" for landing two eyepieces (20 mm 45x and 4 mm 225x), as well as a 3x Barlow lens. The combination of the latter with a 20 mm eyepiece gives a total magnification of 135x.

direct image

A small 5x24 optical finder is fixed directly on the body of the device for aiming at celestial targets. Another important plus of the telescope is the inverting prism, which allows you to immediately get a direct image(not turned upside down and not mirrored). However, the model was also not without flaws. To the category of its minuses, the mediocre quality of the materials for the manufacture of the mount is considered. But as for an amateur-level telescope, you can safely close your eyes to this nuance.
