In the top segment of winter tyres, the products of the tyre company Continental hold consistently high places. The WinterContact TS870P model, which debuted in 2021, was no exception to the rule.

Developed drainage system

The asymmetric tread pattern used in the Continental WinterContact TS860 has been replaced by directional symmetry. A distinctive feature of the new “drawing” style is a quartet of wide circumferential hydroevacuation channels, supported by oblique auxiliary drainage grooves that are directed against the trajectory of the wheel rotation. Developed aqua-drainage network quickly and effectively drains the contact spot, preventing the risk of the car drifting into aquaplaning and slashplaning.

Cool Chili rubber compound

The rubber compound of the model is characterized by a high content of silica and organic resins. It is called Cool Chili. The tyre retains proper elasticity at low negative outdoor temperatures, and the composition of the rubber compound causes low rolling resistance. And this, as you know, is a guarantee of fuel economy and reduction of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

Strengths

The Continental WinterContact TS870P tread blocks are generously studded with three-dimensional sipes at different angles relative to the direction of travel. The edges of the slots form sharp, clinging edges that allow the tyres to be in maximum contact with the snowy and slippery road. As a bonus, the model captivates with a quiet and soft ride, as well as a long run until the tread wears out.
