Additional features wi-fi D-Link DIR-855:
Wide range of features
The XTREME N TM DUO Gigabit Router DIR-855 Series (802.11n Project) delivers up to 14x the speed1 and 6x the range1 of 802.11g while remaining backward compatible with 802.11g devices. With XTREME N TM technology and three external antennas, this router provides extended wireless range for large homes and offices, as well as for users running bandwidth-intensive applications. By connecting the DIR-855 to a cable or DSL modem, you can get high-speed access to the Internet, game consoles and media players. The device allows you to create a secure wireless network to share photos, files, music, videos, printers and network arrays. The DIR-855 supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz dual frequency bands simultaneously, and features an LCD display and a built-in 4-port 10/100/1000Mbps switch that can connect Gigabit wired devices for online gaming and fast transfer files.
Intelligent QoS technology
Thanks to intelligent QoS technology, wired and wireless traffic is analyzed and divided into multiple data streams. The DIR-855 has a built-in WISH Stream Engine technology that improves the quality of wireless data transmission by placing tagged and delay-sensitive traffic at the head of the queue. WISH (Wireless Intelligent Stream Handling) technology automatically detects multimedia, VoIP and online gaming applications without requiring user settings. WISH works transparently with other QoS technologies, which makes it possible to quickly increase the data transfer rate in a wireless environment.
Advanced Network Security
The DIR-855 Xtreme NTM DUO Gigabit Router supports advanced wireless security features to prevent unauthorized access over your wireless network or the Internet. Support for WPA and WPA2 encryption protocols ensures that the best encryption method can be used regardless of client devices. In addition, this router has a built-in dual firewall (SPI and NAT) to prevent possible attacks from the Internet.
HDD sharing, all-in-one, 3G mobile internet connection
Using the SharePort™ Network USB utility, you can connect an external hard drive or All-In-One to the router's USB port to share disk space, print, or scan functions with family members or a group of users. The USB port also supports a D-Link 3G dongle, so you can connect your router to a 3G mobile service for Internet access while traveling.
- Built-in OLED display 84x25.8 mm, displays all modes of the adapter
- Connecting an External Hard Drive or All-In-One to the USB Port
- MAC/IP address filtering (user access control)
- Desktop or wall mounting
