Dual-band wireless router of the Wi-Fi 5 (802.11n/ac) standard with a built-in high-speed 2G/3G/4G-LTE modem (Cat.7) and a slot for installing a SIM card (mini-SIM). The manufacturer positions it as a mid-price product of the 2023 model, designed to connect a small country house, a remote office or other objects that do not have the ability to connect with a cable. It will also be useful for organizing a fault-tolerant basic-level network infrastructure.

In this case, the router works with an Ethernet WAN connection to the provider's network (up to 1 Gbit/s), and if it fails, it switches to the network of cellular operators. The D-Link DWR-960 wireless router is equipped with two built-in antennas serving the Wi-Fi network, as well as two external detachable 3G/4G-LTE antennas receiving/transmitting data in cellular networks.

Support for the full range of standards is declared: GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 3G(HSPA)/3G+(HSPA+), UMTS and 4G-LTE at speeds up to 300 Mbps. The Wi-Fi module operates in two ranges (2.4/5 GHz) and, thanks to support for the MIMO 2x2 mode, provides theoretical peak connection speeds of up to 300/866 Mbps (the real peak speed in ideal conditions is up to 180/460 Mbps). The user can easily handle the initial setup of the router on his own (it is performed via the standard web interface or the D-Link Assistant smartphone application).
