Quality. It can not only cool but also heat—a feature that can come in handy in winter if you’re a fisherman or a traveler. I’m looking at this model from the perspective of a fisherman-tourist-traveler. As a motorist... there are similar but cheaper models with similar specs. Those are the Sea Breeze and Carex at 18–19 liters. Those are weekend models—for a one- or two-day family trip outdoors. But this model is more serious. And higher quality. First and foremost, it’s the price. It’s sky-high. At a time when Chinese alternative models have appeared (for example, KULKU with 49 liters and cooling from 38 to 32 relative to ambient and down to minus 5), the pricing policy is totally unclear. Customers simply don’t buy it. |

But you need to understand that these thermoelectric models are good for moderate climates. They’re absolutely not suitable in Crimea when it’s 38°C in the shade — they just can’t cope. If they stay in the car all the time, that’s different, since the cabin A/C is running. But as travel coolers… I’ve already said. There are also similar Chinese models, 19 liters, Sea Breeze and Carex. Those hold up pretty well too, also up to about 28°C.
But all thermoelectric AX units have one big drawback… heavy current draw. 6 Ah. Lose focus for a moment and the AKB is completely drained. You need to keep topping it up.
Let me repeat: if you live in Argentina, somewhere in the pampas, or in the southern Urals where the temperature doesn’t rise above 28–30°C, you do outdoor trips and have a quad with a tent and a boat, then this model is just the thing. It’s reliable and well-made. But in Crimea or Turkey… it’s already problematic. You won’t get subzero temps inside — the thermostat limits it. But 3–8°C is realistic if the outside is no higher than 30–33°C. And don’t believe the manufacturers about that 30-degree claim — they write that based on ideal conditions. In reality with this model… you’ll see about a 25-degree difference from ambient.
