A single trekking tent from the Italian manufacturer Ferrino belongs to the solutions of the middle price segment. The model is made in the form factor of a half-barrel of a tunnel type, characterized by small dimensions both when unfolded (270x80 cm) and when folded (32x12x12 cm). At the same time, it is notable for the presence of a small vestibule and a sleeping place comfortable enough for one user, 220 cm long and with a width that decreases from 80 cm at the shoulders to 60 cm at the feet.
The Ferrino Sling 1 tent is designed for the warm season and offers a basic level of protection against rain: the water resistance of the awning and the bottom, respectively, is 2000 and 2500 mm of water column. Excellent wind resistance is ensured by both a small overall height (up to 65 cm) and reliable aluminium arcs. Interior fittings include a mosquito net, a lantern loop and pockets for storing small items. For ventilation, a ventilation window is provided, and in the summer heat, you can generally remove the outer awning, leaving only the inner one. Another important feature is the low weight of 1.25 kg in the complete assembly (without pegs, the model is even lighter — 950 grams).

Ultralight Solution
The Ferrino Sling 1 solo tent is an option on the borderline between mid-range and advanced class for trekking, bike tours, and trail running. The main focus is on minimal weight: without stakes, the model weighs 950 g, and in full configuration — 1.25 kg.
The construction is lightened using aluminum poles made from 7001 T6 alloy and moderate density polyester. The inner tent is made of mesh, so in warm dry weather, you can go without the outer tent and sleep with a view of the starry sky.
Compact in Use and in the Case
You don't need much space to set up the tent: when unfolded, it covers about 2 m². In its compact state, the model is also very small — less than 5 liters in a case with dimensions of 32x12x12 cm. Inside, it provides a bedroom of 220x60 cm and a vestibule of 50 cm in length.
Among the controversial points — the entrance is located at the head instead of the side, which may be less convenient. Another downside is the low ceiling of 60 cm: a tall tourist might find it cramped even when sitting. To achieve light weight, water resistance is also reduced: the tent can withstand 2000 mm of water column, which is enough for light rain, and the floor — 2500 mm, which is noticeably modest compared to many competitors.
