Fractal Design Ion 3 Gold 1000W is a Swedish-origin power supply unit available in black or white. The modular cables and their connectors are colored in the same scheme. The model is based on a premium SeaSonic platform with a synchronous rectifier and a single +12V rail capable of delivering a full kilowatt either to one CPU+GPU tandem or to multiple consumers simultaneously.

No Air Leaks

The Rubycon liquid electrolyte holding capacitor is rated for temperatures up to 105 degrees, while most filtering elements are solid-state, withstanding even higher loads. The cooling is handled by the proprietary Fractal Design Momentum 14 fan (the number indicates the diameter), which minimizes the gap between the blades and the frame to reduce air flow losses.

Platinum Level

The cooling modes are switched by the Zero RPM button. Despite its 80 PLUS Gold certification, the actual efficiency reaches 94%, which is closer to Platinum level. Independent testing by Cybenetics was not conducted; however, it is equipped with seven stages of electrical protection and backed by an impressive ten-year warranty.
