New for the 2005 season. The Goodyear Excellence Tyre features an asymmetric tread pattern, each zone performing a specific function, providing the rider with greater levels of safety, comfort and controllability. Goodyear Excellence's tread pattern incorporates a new patented safety technology to maintain a higher level of wet grip at high speeds. The wide and deep grooves are designed to absorb and carry large amounts of water away from the road surface. The "Goodyear Best in Wet" high-tech tread compound reinforced with silica serves a similar purpose. Thanks to the use of new polymers, the Goodyear Excellence tyre provides improved traction on asphalt in all road conditions and allows you to safely ride at high speed on both wet and dry roads. To reduce noise, the new Goodyear Excellence tyre features a central area with extended rigid ribs and sharply angled block ribs and uses patented Dual-Block Shifting technology. Also in the Excellence model, a new tyre design technology is used: in the area where the tyre is adjacent to the rim, the so-called "calibrator" ensures a uniform fit of the tyre, which eliminates vibration. The Goodyear Excellence tyre also delivers superior handling performance. The tyre's carcass structure includes a progressive helical top layer with a double ply under the shoulder. Due to this, the tread adheres very evenly to the road surface over the entire area of the contact patch. Lateral “stabilizers” in the form of wider and stiffer outer shoulder blocks and stiffer ribs provide improved “responsiveness” to steering actions during sharp manoeuvres at high speed, during hard cornering, emergency “rearrangements” and braking. RunOnFlat technology is now a thing of the past! The name of the RunOnFlat technology (running on a flat tyre) speaks for itself. This technology will allow you to continue driving after a puncture or flat tyre. Even if the tyre pressure is completely lost, this technology allows you to drive at least 80 km, at a speed of 80 km/h. Thanks to this technology, in the event of a puncture or flat tyre, the driver can drive to the nearest tyre centre.
