Before the introduction of the Studio model, the ball in the line of HP mobile photo printers was ruled by the "baby" Sprocket on Zink paper. That's just a portable "baby" prints cards of a very small size of 2x3 inches, while the specimen in question can be used to print 10x15 cm photos.
sublimation printing
The printer uses a sublimation printing method: paper passes through the machine back and forth, during which colours are applied layer by layer — first yellow, then magenta, cyan and a transparent top layer. The finish coat plays the role of a protective one — the finished shots are unaffected by the effects of sunlight and water splashes.
Bluetooth connection
HP Sprocket Studio supports the only way to connect to mobile devices — via Bluetooth and nothing else. Photos are sent to print from the HP Sprocket application, which provides access to the entire media library and has a built-in photo editor. In the programme, you can process the photo before printing, decorate it with stickers or your own drawings. The characteristics of the model indicate the speed of obtaining one print of 61 seconds, however, in reality, the printer needs up to one and a half minutes to display one full-colour image.
Mains powered
The mini printer works either from an outlet or from a special compatible power bank, which adds at least a third of the original price to the cost of the kit. Also, in a separate order, you will need to purchase replacement cartridges and photo paper — they are sold in sets of 80 cards and 2 ink cassettes. In the family of "portables" HP you will not find equal printers during the day with fire. In general, in the arena of mobile photo printers, the model competes with a close analogue of the Canon SELPHY CP1300 and, frankly, it is slightly inferior to its competitor in terms of a variety of printing methods.
