The Intel Arc B580 uses the BGM-G21 configuration with 20 Xe2 cores.

A mid-range reference graphics card from Intel, built on the new Battlemage architecture featuring the BGM-G21 chip and 20 Xe2 cores. It is positioned as an entry-level product and a competitor to budget graphics cards like the GeForce RTX 5050 and Radeon RX 9060 XT. Unlike them, it boasts a significant advantage with an expanded 12 GB memory buffer with a 192-bit bus. Perfect for gaming at 1080p with high and maximum settings, and also allows for a comfortable gaming experience at 1440p in most modern games with medium graphics settings.

The Battlemage family underwent extensive work on architectural improvements, specifically, the new Xe2 cores offer significantly increased computational performance and various enhancements in the graphics pipeline, most importantly, boosting the energy efficiency of all units. Special attention was given to the ray tracing acceleration block — according to Intel, some operations are accelerated by 50-100% compared to the first generation Arc.

To improve performance when using ray tracing (or simply low performance), Intel introduced its equivalent of DLSS with an upscaler and frame generator called XeSS 2. Another significant aspect is that after the release of the debut Arc A-series, Intel has resolved most driver issues, and in fact, the only serious problem remains the reduced performance in configurations with outdated hardware lacking PCIe 4.0 or 5.0 support. Regarding physical parameters, the Intel Arc B580 is equipped with a classic cooling system with two fans (length 272 mm with a thickness of 2 slots), and the declared power consumption is 180 W.
