Outdated Product
Introduced in 2019, the 9th generation processor is part of the Coffee Lake Refresh line and is based on a 12nm process technology. It belongs to the initial solutions, which corresponds to both the total number of cores (4 units) and the main performance characteristics: 6 MB of third-level cache and compatibility with DDR4 RAM and a frequency of up to 2400 MHz. The clock frequency of the Intel i3-9100F OEM processor is 3.6 GHz, and as the load on one core increases, this value will automatically increase to 4.2 GHz, for which the proprietary Turbo Boost technology is responsible. The model does not provide an integrated graphics card (the graphics core is disabled) and a cooler in the delivery set. Difficulties with the selection of the latter should not arise, since the processor has a...low heat dissipation, not exceeding 65 watts.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Intel Core i3 Coffee Lake Refresh processors, particularly models like the i3-9100F and i3-9350KF, are praised for their excellent performance-to-price ratio, making them a great choice for budget builds. Users appreciate the turbo boost feature and the processor's ability to handle gaming efficiently, especially when paired with a capable GPU like the GTX 1650 Super or RX 570. The processors maintain a cool temperature under load, although some users note that the boxed cooler can lead to temperatures reaching 70°C during gaming. While Intel offers a solid budget option, some reviewers suggest that AMD's Ryzen processors provide more affordable alternatives with comparable performance. Overall, the Intel Core i3 Coffee Lake Refresh series is highly recommended for those seeking a cost-effective CPU for everyday tasks and gaming.

a good model, I liked it.

At first I wanted to buy it for a collection, but I compared it with the i5 6600k, it turned out that the i3 outperforms the i5 6600k by 20fps. Good price tag, approximately equal to the r3 2200g, but what to choose depends on the person’s taste, I also compared it with the i5 9600k, but here the i5 is a clear winner. I recommend

-Got up to 4000 easily
-Doesn't heat up much, never went above 70°C
-Comes with a good cooler
-As a main processor it is only suitable if the main load is on the video card

From outcasts to heroes

In the Intel family, Core i3 processors have always been an unloved child, on which they save money from the heart: either they cut the cores, then they don’t add multithreading, or they cut the turbo boost. But the hand of the market put everything in its place, against the background of the new Ryzen, no one was interested in such rubbish, and the Core i3 line gradually began its ascent. And now, a year after its debut, the Core i3 9100F can be safely called the king of inexpensive gaming PCs.

The best processor for a low-cost gaming PC

Why is he good? At the cost. Intel initially decided to shock the market with low prices, effectively killing most of the previous generation of processors. For an OEM version without a cooler and an integrated video core, they are now asking for a little more than $80. Agree, the price is impressive even by the standards of democratic ryzens. At the same time, buyers are not faced with any compromises: the Core i3 9100F has four full-fledged cores and an honest turbo boost up to 4.2 GHz, it also has an acceptable 6 MB of third-level cache and modest power consumption. Considering that the bottleneck in today's games is the graphics card, not the processor, the Core i3 9100F is an perfect candidate for a low-cost gaming PC.

There may be problems with the upgrade in the future

The Core i3 9100F has only one minus and it is connected just with the upgrade. If you buy a 9th generation stone that runs on an LGA 1151 v2 socket, you will not be able to upgrade to the 10th or future 11th generation simply because Intel has moved to the new socket 1200. Therefore, the scope for upgrading will be limited to Coffee Lake processor families and Coffee Lake Refresh. Core i5 9600KF or Core i7 9700F. It depends on what prices will be by that time and what of this will generally be on the market.
