We borrowed a vacuum cleaner from a tiler we know. We had a lot to drill, gouge, and clean construction dust. The equipment is EXCELLENT, without it, there's nothing to catch on a construction site, but buying one just for a single renovation is foolish. The main advantage is the automatic filter cleaning. The vacuum periodically taps it, so the suction doesn't drop even when there's a lot of dust. The suction power is decent. The built-in socket is extremely helpful: plug in a tool and the vacuum turns on and off simultaneously, and it even pulls in remaining debris from the hose for a couple of seconds after stopping. The downside is the small front wheels, which stumble over any cable or brick crumbs. Overall, it's a top-notch piece of equipment. It's an essential thing for serious renovation work.
