Compact superzoom with non-replaceable optics providing 25x optical zoom. More specifically, the camera lens covers the popular focal length range from 24mm to 600mm. At the same time, its aperture ranges from f / 3.7 at the short end to f / 6.2 at the telephoto zoom position. The camera focuses on sharpness from a minimum distance of 60 cm, and in macro mode - from 3 cm. The model also has an optical image stabilization system, which is useful both when photographing and when recording video (in the maximum HD resolution - 1280x720 pixels at 30 f/s).

Kodak AZ252 was equipped with a convenient shooting mode selection ring on the upper end of the body, a built-in flash that reaches distances up to 7.5 m, a fixed 3-inch diagonal screen. But the viewfinder eye in the design of the camera is not provided. The camera is powered by four rechargeable batteries or AA batteries. It is supposed to use an SD memory card as a data storage for captured photos and videos. The camera was assembled in a housing with dimensions of 113.6x77.7x69.7 mm and a weight of 336 g.
