The brainchild of LG is one of the most affordable solutions on the market with a FullHD IPS matrix (1920x1280 pixels). It is in the screen that the main advantage of the monitor lies.
Pleasures of IPS
IPS matrices have wide viewing angles, as well as displaying a bright and rich picture. The correctness of colour reproduction is also a well-known strong point of such solutions. But in the case of the LG 24MP48HQ, it raises some questions, because narrow colour gamut (about 89% of sRGB space) does not allow the monitor to be used for close work with graphics. Although in most everyday tasks, the average person is unlikely to notice colour distortion.
Laconic design
The body of the monitor is made in a restrained and concise style. The fulcrum for the model is a plastic leg with a wide rectangular base, which must be handled with care, because it is quite flimsy and wobbles with minimal shifts. The screen position can only be changed by tilt, but height adjustment is not available to the user.
Interfaces
Interfaces for connecting a monitor to a signal source are represented by an analogue VGA connector and one HDMI port. The bundle includes only a VGA cable, through which the model will be able to give a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 pixels, so the lack of an HDMI cable in the box with the monitor is a minus. Also in the controversial side of the LG 24MP48HQ, you can write an external power supply. Given the extremely affordable cost of the monitor, minor flaws in its design are forgivable and do not cause significant inconvenience to the user.
