Playful outside and inside
The monitor of the UltraGear line is made in a characteristic gaming design. There are red inserts on the V-shaped leg and on the back panel, where all the connection ports are located - two HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort v 1.4.
The LG UltraGear 24GN600 IPS-matrix is characterized by a frame rate of 144 Hz, which, together with a fast response (1 ms GtG), will provide a smooth video sequence without jerks and other artifacts in dynamic shooters and other games. Support for AMD FreeSync Premium is also implemented, and reviewers claim that the monitor works correctly in G-Sync compatibility mode, which should please owners of NVIDIA video cards. And as a bonus, there are such gaming features as the Crosshair sight and the Black Stabilizer highlighting dark scenes.
Excellent color reproduction
The 24-inch screen of the LG UltraGear 24GN600 has a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, traditionally for IPS-matrices it has wide viewing angles, and received a flicker-free backlight Flicker-Free. The contrast is low, but typical for IPS (1000:1), and the brightness is slightly increased - up to 300 cd / m². But this will not be enough to experience all the advantages of high dynamic range video, even though HDR 10 is supported here.
Only flattering words deserve color accuracy out of the box. Plus, the color gamut "covers" the entire sRGB space (99%). For professional work with graphics, this may not be enough, but for comfortable viewing of photos and videos, and other everyday use cases, it is quite enough. The image looks bright, saturated, but very natural.
The shortcomings of the model include poor ability to adjust the stand (only tilt), but in this class of devices this is almost the norm. A minus are noticeable highlights on a black background, for example, in dark scenes of games or movies.
The LG UltraGear 24GN600 is first and foremost a solid gaming monitor, but it can also please photo and video lovers.
