2021 all-in-one gaming monitor with a 27" FullHD resolution screen, high refresh rate, good colour reproduction, HDR support and semi-gloss anti-glare coating. It is positioned as a universal gaming monitor for performant gaming PCs, to which you can also easily connect a laptop or game console. A key feature of the LG UltraGear 27GN650 monitor is the support for two synchronization technologies: AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync, which completely eliminate micro-lags and screen tearing typical of LCD monitors. Support for synchronization technologies, combined with a high screen refresh rate of 144 Hz and a fast response time (1 ms GtG), guarantees high-definition display of dynamic game scenes and the absence of noticeable blurring, which is especially important for multiplayer shoo...ters, for example: CS, Fortnite, Overwatch, PUBG, Battlefield, Overwatch, etc. It is also worth noting a rather large pixel (0.31 mm), which makes it possible to maximize the distance from the screen plane to the user's eyes, which significantly reduces the level of chronic tension in the eye muscles. The 8-bit, 8-bit WLED-backlit IPS panel delivers a high maximum brightness of up to 360 cd/m² to correctly display high dynamic range (HDR10) images.

How to Choose a Gaming MonitorWe understand matrix types, suitable resolution, FreeSync and other important aspects when choosing a gaming monitor
Well, I'm an LG fanboy, so...
19 September 2021
I've been using LG (also known as GoldStar) since 1999 AD, starting with CRTs. Surprisingly, all this time LG has never let me down (specifically the monitors - for TVs, I've usually had Samsungs) neither in terms of quality nor in terms of picture clarity. I've always gotten what I chose.

For the last 7 years, I've been using an IPS monitor from LG, the FLATRON IPS236, which suited me fine - 60 Hz and a good picture quality. But the time came to upgrade my PC, so I moved to the 11th generation Intel processors and splurged on a 3080 Ti. I thought it was time to match the monitor to the FPS my new graphics card could produce.

As is tradition, I decided to get a 144 Hz monitor from my favorite LGs, and initially chose the 27GN650F. However, it was from 2019 and didn't fully support G-SYNC from Nvidia. Then I noticed LG had upgraded this model and released the 27GN650-B. So, I decided it was time and bought it.

After tweaking the settings, I adjusted it. The picture seemed more vibrant, and the contrasts brighter, but something felt off... As dusk fell, the room darkened noticeably, and while playing a game filled with dark landscapes (Elite Dangerous), I noticed "backlight bleed" which my old monitor never had. After some investigation, I found it was more about the viewing angles where, depending on the position relative to the screen, the LED backlight was visible at the corners. Thankfully, my monitor is mounted on a movable bracket from Onkron, so I was able to compensate for this issue.

Therefore, I recommend this model - it improves posture!
- frequency 144 Hz
- more comprehensive G-SYNC support
- brightness and contrast
- price
- glare from LED backlighting
- not very impressive viewing angles
