Balanced gaming monitor with a large 31.5-inch WQHD (2560x1440) screen, high refresh rate, improved colour gamut, support for HDR images and an effective semi-gloss anti-glare coating. An important feature of this model is compatibility with AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync synchronization technologies, which completely eliminate microlags and screen tearing typical for LCD monitors.

It is positioned as a universal gaming monitor for performant gaming PCs. Thanks to improved colour reproduction and factory calibration, it can be used for amateur and semi-professional processing of photo/video content. The LG UltraGear 32GN650 monitor screen is based on a full-fledged 8-bit VA matrix with uniform WLED backlighting, which provides an impressive maximum brightness (up to 350 cd/m²). Support for synchronization technologies, combined with a high screen refresh rate and fast response time, guarantees good clarity in displaying dynamic gaming scenes and no noticeable blurring. Removable stand allows you to adjust the height, angle and rotation of the screen. In addition, it supports changing the orientation from landscape to portrait.

Decent value for money

In 2021, the Korean manufacturer LG has thoroughly updated its line of UltraGear gaming monitors, releasing about 15 brand new monitors for sale. Due to the optimal ratio of cost and performance, the LG GN600 series immediately took off on the market, which included three models with a diagonal of 24, 27 and 32". The largest 32-inch panel came to our tests, which differs from its relatives not only in diagonal, but also in the type of matrix used.

8-bit matrix with a refresh rate of 165 Hz

Instead of the usual IPS display, LG decided to use an 8-bit VA-matrix with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, as well as support for a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The display turned out to be quite pleasant, the colours look natural, the brightness of 350 cd / m² is almost enough to fully display HDR content, and the pixel size for such a diagonal seems perfect. At 4K resolution, there would be a much more serious load on the graphics card, and the RTX 3080 now costs like Chinese mopeds. The only oddities are observed when connecting via DisplayPort. Only in this case, the monitor is able to work according to the formula 165 Hz + 1 ms response speed. But in this mode, he has to go to tricks, reducing the brightness and activating the Motion Blur Reduction function. In the latter case, the dynamics in games feel smoother, but the picture flickers a little like in monitors with PWM.

A monitor that knows how to make a first impression

Despite this, acquaintance with the 32GN650 left a pleasant aftertaste. The LG UltraGear 32GN650 is a moderately beautiful, effective and well-built monitor that gives its owner everything needed to enjoy the game without distractions. If you don't need some fancy stuff like ambilight lighting, a USB hub with a charging port, or Dolby Vision support, the LG UltraGear 32GN650 monitor is definitely a good choice for a gaming TV monitor. In stores, they ask for only $350 for it, and this despite the fact that it is trained in the same tricks as more expensive and status monitors - portrait mode, height adjustment and G-Sync support, which is practically not found in entry-level models.
