The mouse is one of the most affordable in the RAT line, but retains key advantages, such as the ability to adjust the manipulator to your hand and the signature “transformer” style. It is also one of the few gaming mice in a poisonous green design, so it is perfect for assembling with NVIDIA video cards.

Unlike the older brother Mad Catz RAT Pro X made of magnesium alloy, the Pro S model is plastic and extremely light — only 77 grams, which is unusually small for a gaming mouse. It is also interesting that it was developed in collaboration with cybersportsmen, therefore it is not without modularity, which is expressed in interchangeable backrests with adjustable tilt.

The sniper button, called Precision Aim, on the Mad Catz RAT Pro S is narrow, triangular, rather long and hard to press. This is more a plus than a minus, since the finger rests constantly in it, both when lifting it above the rug and when moving it. However, keeping it pressed and moving the mouse will be difficult. The appearance of the button, like the appearance of the whole mouse, is aggressive and angular.

Among the distinguishing features of this model, we note the Pixart PMW3310 optical optical sensor. Using proprietary software, you can configure the assignment for 8 programmable buttons. The 1.8 metre long cable is encased in a lime-yellow binding, and Teflon feet provide excellent glide. The maximum DPI is 5000, so this model is not suitable for those who like to play at ultra-high sensitivity.

The Pro S is one of the most affordable ways to join the Mad Catz RAT line without losing too many of the benefits that the older models in their line can provide. Although plastic is inferior in premium to metal, and the DPI is not the highest, the rest of the parameters are pleasing.
