For wired connections, some type of USB connector is most commonly used, less often — PS/2 (see "Connection Interface"). In any case, purely wired mice are noticeably cheaper than their wireless counterparts, and their operating time is practically unlimited — it does not depend on the charge of the battery/batteries. On the other hand, the wire limits freedom of movement and can create some inconvenience by getting tangled under your hands.
