The mat is really durable, even the cat tried to sharpen its claws on it and the mat didn't even get scratched. It's pleasant to the touch, plus the mouse works perfectly, the top is quite smooth, while the bottom is quite the opposite, it's grippy and doesn't slide on the table with the mouse.
Good material, no smell at purchase, comfortable

The carpet is great, I've been using it for over a year now. If you clean the surface regularly, it will look like new. Very pleasant tactile surface. The edges are not treated with anything, but they do not fray. The mouse “flies” as if on air (I have a rival 650)
