Japanese Makita is known for its reliable tools for professionals and DIYers. The BHR241Z rotary hammer is a harmonious combination of performance, design and price ($220).

Convenience and power in one package

The tool looks neat and compact. Dimensions 417x84x219 mm and weight 3.2 kg together with the battery make it easy to manipulate the device and work without fatigue for a long time. Rubberized pads on the body and an additional two-position handle with a depth gauge help to hold the rotary hammer.

Performant and safe

The spindle speed is controlled by the force of pulling the trigger and can reach 1100 rpm. An impact energy of 2 J and a frequency of 4000 beats / min is enough to work as a perforator as a demolition hammer, drill holes with a blow in concrete with a diameter of up to 20 mm using a solid drill.

By drilling without impact, you can get holes in wood with a diameter of up to 26 mm, in metal — up to 13 mm. Changing the drill is keyless, quick and convenient. The safety clutch protects the master from injury, and the hammer from damage if the drill suddenly jams.

Also in the model it is convenient to replace the brushes. The tool does not need to be disassembled. On the left side of the case, next to the logo, there is a special hatch for quick access.

Makita BHR241Z comes without a case, battery and charger. In general, rotary hammers of the BHR241 line are completed in different ways. Models marked SYE, RFE, RFJ come with batteries of different capacities, a charger, a case, respectively, their prices are significantly higher.

The tool will serve a home master for a long time, but even in the hands of a professional it will be able to work daily for several hours. A definite "must-have" for adherents of a solid and not too expensive cordless tool.
