Model overview based on user reviews
The Makita DGA504Z is a highly regarded cordless angle grinder known for its ergonomic design and powerful brushless motor, which allows for extended work on a single battery charge. Users appreciate its thin body that facilitates one-handed operation and the conveniently placed power button. The model features a rotatable gearbox, making it suitable for both right and left-handed users. However, it lacks a keyless disk replacement and a vibration-dampening handle, which some users find inconvenient. Despite these drawbacks, it is praised for its versatility in cutting small items like protruding studs and rebar, and it performs well with felt polishing wheels. Overall, the Makita DGA504Z is recommended for its freedom from network constraints and suitability for various cutting tasks, although it may require additional accessories like a 150mm protective cover for optimal performance.

A great replacement for your favorite corded angle grinder

In terms of power and performance, the Makita DGA504RF angle grinder is roughly equivalent to a corded angle grinder of the 600 – 800 Watt class. This is not too much, but quite sufficient for most simple cutting and grinding tasks. It is equipped with a compact brushless motor, "packed" inside an ergonomic case made of durable plastic. The modern motor, equipped with an electronic protection unit, features increased reliability and reduced energy consumption. Therefore, the tool works longer on battery power than angle grinders with outdated commutator motors.

A barrel of honey and a spoonful of tar

During operation, the stable speed of the cutting disc or flap disc is maintained by the control electronics. Thanks to the speed support, you can avoid damaging the surface during metal grinding or overheating plastic when cutting a piece of PVC.

Unlike Makita corded angle grinders, cordless angle grinders of this brand have an inconvenient location for the start button (it is on top, not on the side). This is quite inconvenient, but the issue is easily resolved by rotating the gearbox relative to the body by 90 degrees.

This model comes with a spacious plastic case for transportation and storage of the power tool. The standard battery has a capacity of 3 Ah, so it is worth considering purchasing a higher capacity battery (Makita produces 18-volt batteries with a capacity of up to 8 Ah).

Without it your tool kit would not be complete

Grinders like the Makita DGA504RF are ideal for those involved in the installation of engineering networks: ventilation ducts, electrical wiring, heating systems pipelines, etc. This model will be an excellent addition to the installation tool kit that you carry with you from site to site, especially if you already use cordless drills, screwdrivers, and other types of Makita tools that operate on 18-volt batteries.
