I'm writing a truly honest review about these tires. Bought them a month ago after some thinking (tests, reviews, etc.). I needed a decent non-studded tire for city driving, highways, and snow. Before this, I drove on Goodyear Ice Plus for six seasons (not an ad, but the tires were the bomb for me). They were discontinued in 2014, and in 2018, production started in Poland; so, the quality is not the same. In general, about the Michelin - the only plus is the noiselessness, everything else is just one big minus. When changing tires, one tire turned out to be slightly warped (the steering pulled to the right, switched it out for another on the same rim and it stopped pulling). And the main thing - today, the first snow fell, and it was terrible. On slightly compacted snow, it constantly slips when starting and doesn't brake at all, just like a cow on ice. It kind of reminded me of KAMA all-season tires from the '90s. The conclusion is that these tires are definitely not for compacted snow or icy surfaces. And this is the more expensive version - made in Germany. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide. Best regards. Very quiet, beyond all praise It slips even on slightly packed snow. It doesn't brake AT ALL on ice. use Michelin Alpin 6 month or more |

In 2018, the popular winter tyre Michelin Alpin 5 was replaced by the sixth edition of the model. Its target audience is passenger vehicles that live in the mild climatic conditions of European winters.
Ever Grip Technology
The tyre uses a recognizable symmetrical tread pattern with a pronounced directionality. Its central part has a dense lamella of blocks. And it is worth noting that the slots here are not simple. The EverGrip technology is implemented in the model, which causes consistently good grip, regardless of the degree of tyre wear. In the course of tread wear, in place of zigzag sipes, hidden drainage grooves appear, which maintain the negative profile area constant.
Consistent ride quality
The rubber formula of the tyre contains functional polymers and plasticizers. Carefully selected components provide improved traction properties of rubber on snow, together with which they guarantee excellent grip on wet and dry road surfaces. The tyre's raking qualities in loose snow are designed to be strengthened by the ribbed surface of the shoulders.
Solid pluses
Michelin Alpin 6 has been awarded a high fuel efficiency rating, and the tyre also captivates with a long service life and ride comfort. The tyre does not care about any weather vagaries of the cold winter season. Finally, for greater clarity, the model provides an informative indication of the degree of tread wear. Characteristic "steps" on individual blocks show the remaining tread depth in percent.
