For control, a touch panel EasySelect with a single slider is offered for convenient power selection (9 power levels available), a timer with automatic switch-off, a child lock, and a three-stage residual heat indicator.

The Miele KM 6520 FR cooktop is notable for the presence of one Vario outline zone located at the rear right. It can be the smallest heating area of all — with a working diameter of 12 cm and a power of 750 W (if only one ring is active), or the largest — 21 cm and 2200 W (with two rings). In addition, three more different zones are offered — 14.5 cm (1.2 kW), 16 cm (1.5 kW), and 18 cm (1.8 kW).
