Model overview based on user reviews
The Neumann KH 310 A speakers are highly regarded for their exceptional sound quality and neutral frequency response, making them ideal for professional audio work. Users appreciate the precise stereo field and excellent dispersion, which contribute to a smooth and controlled sound. The speakers feature a dome tweeter and deliver a tight and precise bass, with a frequency range that impressively extends down to 30 Hz, despite being rated at 36 Hz. While some users note a softened sound compared to other models, this characteristic is often seen as beneficial for reducing harsh sibilants and smoothing out recordings. The KH 310 A's design allows for a comfortable listening experience, even in group settings, and they are praised for their ability to handle transients and harmonics with precision. Overall, these speakers are a valuable addition to any professional audio setup, alongside brands like ATC, Dynaudio, and Genelec.
Pros
Cons
Shiiiiit. I temporarily switched from ATC SCM25 Pro MK2 to Neumann KH (Klein+Hummel) 310A. I often work with voices, whether it's vocals or voiceovers, and the first thing I noticed was how those harsh sibilants disappeared. With the ATCs, you could immediately hear those piercing sibilants, harshness, and other recording flaws, but here... it feels like the material sounds smoother. And the highs seem softer too. Then I listened on NS10, similar to ATC. You need to get used to the Germans and spend a few weeks to understand the sound, but I liked this "subduing and smoothing." My RT60 for 125 Hz is 0.28s, which means it's pretty good for the room, so there will be no questions about reverberation, which in turn leads to examining the lower and mid frequencies. While working, I personally realized that these monitors are not narrow, and the sweet spot was pretty normal for me; I think even a group could fit and listen together. The woofer is tight and precise, and as a near-field monitor, it goes down decently to 30 Hz, although it's stated at 36, but it seemed to me I felt it lower. Well, the low end here is divine. Some might say they are bass-heavy, but that's not true. Straight as a ruler. The mids are good too. Along with the three-way near-field monitors from ATC, Dynaudio, Focal, Hedd, and Genelec, Neumann has now been added to my collection. +Sound +Frequency Response +Dome Tweeter +Killer Stereo Field +Dispersion +Nice Bass +Neutral sound that will control your transients and harmonics like a scalpel. -Softened sound |
