A lightweight and compact zoom lens for the vast guard of mirrorless cameras with a Micro 4/3 image sensor. Given the crop factor of this system, the 2x model provides coverage of equivalent focal lengths of 80-300mm. Moreover, the maximum aperture remains unchanged throughout the entire zoom range - its value is f / 4. The optical scheme of the universal zoom consists of 15 elements in 9 groups.

It uses two aspherical lenses, two ED elements, one Super ED element and a high refractive index HR element. The design of the lens is protected from dust and moisture according to the IP 53 class, and the Olympus 40-150mm f / 4.0 ED Pro also uses a fluorine coating on the lenses. For automatic focusing, the model uses a stepper drive with a focusing distance of 70 cm. The lens has a 7-blade aperture. But there is no optical stabilizer on board the model. Together with it, you can use filters with a diameter of 62 mm, which are supposed to be installed on the front lens. The dimensions of the lens when folded are 69x99 mm, and its weight is 382 g.
