Minimum installation time
The Outwell tent stands out from most trekking models with its half-barrel shape. But due to the small overall height (110 cm), it almost does not differ from the hemispherical counterparts in terms of wind resistance and volume of internal space.
The two fibreglass poles of the Outwell Earth 2 must be placed parallel to each other during assembly. And due to the fact that the frame here is external, a lot of time and effort will not be required for installation.
Comfortable overnight stay
The tent is designed for two tourists. It has a bedroom with floor dimensions of 210x130 cm, which will be enough for users of an average build. In the seating area there are pockets for small items such as a smartphone, a flashlight loop and ventilation flaps.
The only entrance is supplemented with a mosquito net and a vestibule large enough for trekking purposes. Its length reaches 90 cm, so here you can even cook food on a burner, and not just store equipment. And in the vestibule there is a removable floor and a pair of tinted viewing windows that increase the privacy of users.
Quality synthetic materials
The bottom of the Outwell Earth 2 inner tent is a polyethylene material with a high water resistance of 10,000mm. With such indicators, it is actually permissible to camp not just on wet ground, but almost in a puddle. However note that the complete polyester awning has only basic water protection (3000 mm). It is likely to get wet during prolonged or intense precipitation, even despite the reinforced corners and taped seams.
The model is also very heavy (3.6 kg), so it should be recommended either to hikers with good physical fitness, or to all those who are definitely not chasing the minimum weight of equipment.
It should also be noted that there are more spacious solutions in the brand line, including a 5-seat relative — Earth 5, focused on camping use.
