Pebble was born on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform. The first version of the smartwatch raised $10 million, with the necessary $100,000 received in just two hours after the start of the project. The next version of the watch, called the Pebble Time, raised even more funds — a record $20 million.

A dark horse

It would seem that the Pebble Time smartwatch does not stand out in any way. They have a non-touch screen with a resolution of 168x144 pixels, which can transmit only 64 colours, their own OS, they do not have a built-in cardio sensor. But thanks to the use of coloured electronic ink, the picture on the display is visible even on the brightest sunny day, and the battery can ensure uninterrupted operation of the watch on a single charge for a week.

Features

Navigation through the menu is carried out using mechanical keys, pressing which requires some effort. The menu itself is built intuitively and even a child will understand it. For the gadget to interact with a smartphone, you need to install a utility on the latter through which you can manage all the functions, as well as set the main types of notifications. Smartwatches are designed to work with Android and iOs. However a number of features, such as voice control and fine-tuning notifications, are not available to owners of Apple phones.

Waterproof

The Pebble Time is acclaimed for its good battery life, a wide range of colour options for the case and silicone straps, as well as for its water resistance — the smartwatch can be left on your hand when submerged under water to a depth of 30 m.

Additional features smart watch Pebble Time:
  • Possibility to set different watch screens and apps
  • Use in conjunction with Jawbone, Fitocracy, Runkeeper, Misfit apps
  • Listening to Pandora, iHeartRadio
  • Timeline interface
  • User Activity Tracking
  • Ability to connect peripherals (for example, a heart rate monitor)
Good to know:

Timeline interface - from the name it becomes clear that it is associated with time. This interface is a long vertical bar that contains the past, present, and future. At the same time, they are arranged in such a way that the past is at the top, the present is in the middle and the future is at the bottom. This solution will help you quickly navigate and search for the necessary information.
