The company Phanteks is renowned for its unique approach to designing cases, and this 2025 model from the Evolv series is clear proof of that. The structure is built around the idea of a "floating" chassis: the entire case is raised above the base, and air is drawn in from below through three 120-mm fan positions, passes by the components, and is expelled through the slanted grille at the top.

This vertical airflow scheme is efficient, but it imposes limitations — there are no front or side positions for fans, totaling seven slots exclusively for 120-mm models. An AIO radiator is allowed only on top, measuring up to 360 mm, with a strict thickness limit — no more than 32 mm. Fans are not included. Inside the Phanteks Evolv X2 case, matte brushed aluminum panels are used, concealing the cooling elements flush with the design.

Glass panels on the front and side showcase the motherboard and graphics card, while the massive rear door completely hides the cable routing. Inverted motherboard connections are supported — compatible with MSI Project Zero, ASUS BTF, and Gigabyte Project Stealth. Space for E-ATX is up to 280 mm wide, graphics cards fit up to 380 mm in length, and the PSU allocation is generous — up to 250 mm.

Three built-in D-RGB strips create diffused lighting throughout the height, and the USB-C 3.2 gen2x2 port delivers bandwidth up to 20 Gbps. The structure weighs 14.2 kg — a result of the combination of steel and aluminum.
