The device is fundamentally different from an ordinary electric kettle: the Philips Water Station ADD5910M/10 is a hot water dispenser that operates on the principle of instant heating. Instead of boiling the entire volume at once, the device heats exactly the amount of water needed at the moment, which, according to the manufacturer, saves up to 70% of energy used for heating compared to a thermal pot.

The user selects the desired volume from five fixed amounts — 150, 250, 300, 400, or 500 ml, or activates continuous flow — and presses a button: hot water is dispensed into the cup within seconds. The temperature range covers six presets: 40, 70, 80, 90, 100 °C, and cold water, making the device suitable for a variety of tasks — from brewing delicate green tea to preparing baby formula or diluting boiling water to the required temperature.

The built-in Micro X-Clean filter purifies water from chlorine, scale, heavy metals, microplastics, and several other contaminants, while an indicator on the display promptly alerts when a replacement is needed.
