Removable lid and original handle
The Philips HD 9339/80 Series 5000 electric kettle features an elegant and practical design that combines the aesthetics of glass and metal. This model is not burdened with excessive functionality and is used exclusively for boiling water at home. The case of the device, containing 1.7 liters of water, consists of a cylindrical glass flask enclosed between the top and bottom of stainless steel. Removable lid covering the mouth, base stand and original handle are made of black heat-resistant plastic. On the side surfaces of the glass on both sides there are strokes of the water level indicator indicating the number of cups of the drink. A washable nylon microfilter is installed on the drain of the wide spout, which retains scale particles. And under the handle is a lever heating switch.
Overcharge
Despite the decent power of the stainless steel heating element, which is 2200 W, the kettle was not at all impressed with the boiling speed. When the flask is only half filled with water, it takes about 4 minutes to reach the boiling point, which is not an outstanding result. During heating, a blue ring LED built into the bottom of the case simultaneously illuminates the water in the flask and the start switch lever. The power cord can be wrapped around the stand, adjusting the length as needed. The device has a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. The kettle adequately handles with the task, and is also easy to clean and wash. But its price, in the light of functional simplicity, is definitely overpriced.
