Memory size:32 GB, eMMC, + memory card slot, RAM 3 GB

Shooting modes with a classic angle of view of 76 °, or with a wide angle of 123 ° (separate lens). A full slot for a memory card and two separate slots for SIM. Super AMOLED display. Switching to colder and more restrained tones. NFC. Fast charging.

Bezelless large caliber c 6.4-inch display at the head of the front panel. The “high” screen of the gadget is built on the basis of a Super AMOLED type matrix, showing a bright and juicy picture in HD + format (1560x720 pixels). A piece of the display at the top “bit off” a V-shaped “cape” for the 8 MP selfie camera lens. In the hardware part, the model got hold of the homegrown “octa-core” Exynos 7884 (two cores of this single-chip system operate at a frequency of 1.6 GHz, and the remaining six at 1.35 GHz), along with it, “under the hood” of the device, 3/32 GB of memory is installed.

The “hardware” of the Samsung Galaxy A20 32GB has a sufficient supply of strength to easily turn mobile applications of a medium-high degree of “severity”. The photographic side of the issue of the smartphone is represented by a tandem of 13 + 5 MP rear photomodules (the main one is paired with an “eye” for measuring depth of field). Among other useful things, the model was “delivered” with an NFC chip, a fingerprint scanner on the back and a capacious battery for exactly 4000 mAh.

Why do smartphones start to slow down and what amount of RAM is now considered optimal?Let's explore the reasons for the slowdown and the optimal amount of RAM for smartphones

History of success

In our reviews, we have repeatedly praised Samsung's Galaxy A series of inexpensive smartphones. The secret of its success was the generosity, unusual for Koreans, for additional NFC-type buns, adequate price tags and Super AMOLED displays that are excellent by the standards of this class. In fact, Samsung was the first company to bring such flagship matrices to the middle class. We say right away that we will also praise the Galaxy A20, but with some reservations.

Super AMOLED display

Its Super AMOLED screen has a high margin of brightness, rich colours and very deep blacks. In general, a typical AMOLED. If someone does not like such a riot of colours, then in the settings you can switch to “screen mode — main”, in this case the colour gamut is narrowed to about sRGB space. So what's the downside of the screen? In a resolution of 1560x720 pixels, which is now found only in very cheap smartphones that are bought for grandparents. Pixels here can be seen without any problems at all, although you get used to it pretty quickly and after a while you stop paying attention.

NFC, fast charging and great battery life

The second nuance concerns the dual camera. It often misses the white balance, which causes pictures in bright weather to take on an unnecessarily warm hue with a narrow dynamic range. At the same time, in cloudy weather, problems with overexposure disappear and the photos are obtained as needed. In general, the camera is not the best. But this minus is covered by a full-fledged gentleman's set of a smartphone (NFC, fast charging, USB-C, a slot for a memory card). And yet, despite a quite standard 4000 mAh battery, the smartphone demonstrates very good battery life, and with an average load it “lives” for two days without any problems.

Exynos 7884

In terms of hardware and design, this is a completely ordinary modern handset that takes out any everyday tasks, but can choke on heavy games. The hardware base here is as follows: Exynos 7884, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage. The back panel of the Galaxy A20 is made of hard, glossy polycarbonate, which looks like it's worth the money. That is, not very expensive. However this applies rather to a completely unremarkable black model. But plain blue, and especially red coloring looks interesting. This is probably because over the past year, the once-fashionable gradient fill, shimmering in several shades, has become familiar and Samsung simply played on the contrast here. After all, everything new is a well-forgotten old.
