Sapphire Nitro + RX 6800 is a progressive modification of the Radeon RX 6800 with three fans (two larger and one smaller). Unlike the reference, it is 31 cm long and occupies two and a half expansion slots. The increased dimensions of the graphics card should be taken into account when assembling a compact Mini-ITX computer, while owners of average MidiTower cases need not worry.

Built on a version of the Navi 21 chip with partially blocked microkernel clusters — 3840 unified modules are available. The factory frequencies of the RX 6800, compared to the older 6800 XT, are relatively low: guaranteed 1815 MHz in all games and auto overclocking to 2105 MHz in some games. However, power consumption and, as a result, heat dissipation, by the standards of modern pre-flagship video cards, is moderate — only 250 watts. But the video memory of the RX 6800 is exactly the same as that of the older 6800 XT — 16 gigabytes.

Manual overclocking

But taking into account the three-fan cooling system, which removes heat not only from the graphics chip, but also from the power circuit, you can safely experiment with overclocking. Fortunately, in the AMD Radeon Adrenalin driver settings, you can activate Rage Mode, which completely removes the TDP limit. After that, the overclocking potential will depend solely on the success of a particular instance of the graphics card. After all, as you know, overclocking is always a lottery.

Purity and beauty

The fans of the Sapphire Nitro + RX 6800 are made opaque, which is why they are devoid of LED backlighting (but the dust accumulated under the blades will not be an eyesore). But unlike the generally non-luminous base Sapphire Pulse RX 6800, the Nitro + modification still received an unobtrusive ARGB decoration on the end of the casing and the metal backplate.
