Server internal (embedded) enterprise-class medium-capacity (8 TB) hard drive from the Seagate Exos 7E8 line of 3.5" HDD drives, which includes models from 1 to 8 TB with a SATA or SAS interface. This family includes high-quality server drives , the design and firmware of which are optimized for solving problems of long-term storage and processing of information in disk arrays with a large number of HDDs. Supports the Hot-Plug function, which simplifies the maintenance of data storage systems. Suitable for working in any RAID arrays of the enterprise level or data centers. . SATA3 is used as the connection interface, so the Seagate Exos 7E8 ST8000NM000A hard drive can also be used in high-performance workstations (it is worth considering the significant heat dissipation of 12.8 W and a not...iceable noise level. Thanks to the improved design, the drive demonstrates high reliability and moderate power consumption). Magnetic recording CMR provides high read/write speed, and magnetic plates rotate at a speed of 7200 rpm, which reduces access time. The manufacturer claims best-in-class vibration resistance, ensuring stable performance when working in large arrays. With the proper level of cooling, it can be operated 24/7. The drive's firmware is optimized for operation in RAID arrays.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Seagate Exos 7E8 Exos 7E8 hard drive offers impressive volume and speed, making it suitable for large data storage needs. However, users should be cautious about its reliability, as experiences can vary. One user reported issues with data integrity, where partitions switched to RAW and files were mixed up, despite no bad sectors being detected. It's advisable to run stress tests immediately after purchase and keep a backup of your data on another drive. Despite these concerns, another unit of the same series has been working steadily for two years, indicating that performance may vary between individual drives.
Pros

Cons

As soon as you take it, run it in stress tests and do not delete data from the old hard drive.

Got it for a file dump, started writing data to the disk and all the partitions switched to RAW, after a few days data started disappearing and files were mixed up. At the same time, not a single bad sector was detected, everything was perfect according to Victoria. Meanwhile, there's another one, just 1TB, and it's been working steadily for two years.
