Rugged and reliable hard drives from Seagate's 2021 SkyHawk lineup. They belong to the upper price segment, focused on use in round-the-clock video surveillance systems. They are the next step in the development of the SkyHawk series. Unlike standard SkyHawk surveillance drives, SkyHawk AI smart HDDs are optimized to work in surveillance systems based on sDVRs and sNVRs. Smart firmware supports proprietary ImagePerfect AI technology, which guarantees uninterrupted recording simultaneously from 64 surveillance devices.

They support SkyHawk Health Management software, which helps to monitor the health of the drive and quickly respond to any problems using advanced prevention and recovery tools. Proprietary RAID RapidRebuild software simplifies the organization of a RAID array. Built-in vibration sensors help to better monitor the physical condition of the HDD, which is installed in a construction site with several other drives.

The SkyHawk AI family consists of about 10 models, which look no different from any other 3.5-inch hard drive. Unless the case is covered with anti-corrosion material so that the device can be used in adverse conditions (damp warehouse, construction site, work shop, etc.). Serious differences relate to the firmware and the internal content of the drive. The junior SkyHawk AI has a memory reserve of 8 TB, the oldest has a storage capacity of 20 TB, which is significantly superior to other HDDs from the SkyHawk series.

All of them are made in the form factor 3.5”, use a standard SATA connection and are compatible with most digital video surveillance systems. The cache volume in all cases is 256 MB. The declared speed of work is from 235 to 260 MB / s. In addition, they are characterized by an extended working life (approx: up to 300,000 on-off cycles) and low power consumption (6-8 W). The spindle speed is the same in all cases - 7200 rpm.
