Headphones with a bright design, but not ideal sound
30 September 2013
I got hooked on these headphones because of their appearance. There are six variations, but unfortunately, the sound quality wasn't as vibrant as expected and leaves much to be desired. It seems somewhat flat, with some frequencies dropping out and too many mid-range frequencies. The same applies to the materials they are made from. A couple of months into use, the headband broke, which was very unpleasant.
The first thing that catches the eye is, of course, the appearance of the headphones; they are bright, fun, and memorable, which is why they drew my attention. Another amazing feature is the bottle opener on the inner band. Yes, it's there and quite sturdy. If you tinker with the equalizer, the sound improves and the bass is well-felt. The cable is attached only on one side, so you can hang the headphones on your bag.
I want to talk about the downsides, unfortunately, they do exist despite the cute appearance. Poor noise isolation allows you to hear the surrounding world. After wearing them for a long time, they start to press on your ears and head. The ear cushions are very hard. When you begin to adjust the headband size, there's a concern they might break. The plastic feels flimsy and unreliable, causing the whole construction to creak. They sit strangely on the head and seem like they might fall off with sudden movements. I find the mid frequencies a bit too much, although adjusting the equalizer made it better. There isn't a case for transport included.
