Good jigsaw with excellent features

The Stanley FatMax FME340K electric jigsaw is well-cut and tightly sewn. Like other devices in the FatMax series, it is made from the best materials, the quality of which leaves no doubt that Stanley tools are almost like DeWALT, but a little cheaper (both brands are owned by the same multinational corporation).

Inside a durable plastic case, generously covered with anti-vibration non-slip rubber pads, is a 710W motor. It provides the high frequency of saw strokes (up to 3200 strokes/min) necessary for fast and clean sawing of various materials. According to the passport data, the power of the tool is enough to cut wooden boards up to 85 mm thick (as well as composite materials, aluminium blanks up to 15 mm thick and steel up to 10 mm in diameter). Productive work is facilitated by the ability to flexibly adjust the frequency of file strokes and the intensity of movement of the pendulum mechanism.

Almost "full stuffing"

The tool is designed in such a way that the user is less distracted from work. Therefore, it is equipped with a quick-release fastener that allows you to change saw blades in just one movement, without using wrenches and screwdrivers. At the same time, the holder securely fixes files of various types (with T-shaped and U-shaped shanks). An equally elegant mechanism is used to adjust the angle of the sole. It is enough to flip the lever, which is located in a convenient place on the side of the case, and you can tilt the soleplate to the left or right to the desired angle (there are fixed positions of 15°, 30° and 45° in each direction) to make an inclined cut. A long (4 m) cable with a braid of good soft rubber is attached to the jigsaw (many other manufacturers save money and produce power tools with short, hard and uncomfortable power cords). In the area of the saw unit, a bright LED is built into the body, which provides excellent illumination of the working area. During operation, the chips are blown away from the cutting line by a strong directed air flow.

The only thing that causes criticism is the weight of the device. Due to the solid, solid construction, the tool weighs as much as 2.74 kg (for manual jigsaws powered by the mains, the weight is about 2 - 2.2 kg, and some models are even lighter). Therefore, it is best to buy the Stanley FatMax FME340K for those jobs in which it rests completely on its cast aluminium sole during sawing (for example, cutting large-format sheets of plywood or OSB), and is not held in the hands by weight. The jigsaw comes with a nice plastic case (Stanley is famous for the quality of their tool boxes).
