If you are ready to deal with YouTube blocking, ready to create a separate account for watching its alternatives, and ready to flash and configure, then for 30-35 EUR it is a decent option. But I would recommend adding 13-15 EUR more and getting a certified set-top box that won't have issues like the w2. 1. Price 2. Community support 3. The watch is a convenient thing for me 4. Availability of dual-band Wi-Fi 5. Availability of Bluetooth 6. Build quality 1. This is the main and most important downside. It is a non-certified device. From this come the following downsides. 2. Google will block YouTube and Google account management on non-certified TV boxes starting December 1, 2025. I do not recommend using third-party YouTube clients as it is unsafe for your Google account. 3. The factory software is not convenient. To implement all functions, you need to flash it with custom software. 4. The IR remote is a bit inconvenient to use. 5. Weak Wi-Fi. 6. Often, non-functional power adapters are included in the package. 7. Deception with USB ports. One of the ports is labeled as USB 3.0, but in fact, they're all 2.0. 8. The Tanix W2 has proven itself as a decent media player. It's worth noting that for maximum comfortable use, it's advisable to reflash the device. After this, the functionality becomes significantly better, the system works more stably, and more opportunities open up. Overall, satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it. Stable 4K playback, support for AV1, VP9, H.265 codecs, HDR10+ support, does not overheat under load, availability of ports for connecting peripherals.
