This technology is originally designed to expand the range of brightness: it allows you to display brighter light colours and dimmer dark colours within a single frame than with a conventional image format, without HDR. Due to this, the picture quality is significantly improved: firstly, the colours are brighter and more saturated, and secondly, small details remain visible even in very light and very dark areas. However, keep in mind that in order to use HDR, you will also need a screen (TV, monitor, etc.) that is compatible with this technology, and, of course, HDR content. Also, there are several HDR formats these days and not all of them are mutually compatible.
